Foreign Development Partners

The Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and Reledev Australia Limited have been supporting the Foundation for Professional Training, Inc. (FPTI) and its educational institutions, in particular, the Banilad Center for Professional Development (BCPD) in Cebu, Philippines through the project “Access to economic means of development for Filipino women experiencing social exclusion and capacity building of the partner NGO (FPTI)” for ten years now.

The collaborative project includes the following activities:

  • Implementation of competency-based education and training (CBET) that helped 1,100 young girls find gainful employment in hotel and restaurant industry in the Philippines and abroad.
  • Development of CBET manuals for teachers and students.
  • Coordination with 70 committed industry partners for students’ work experience and funding of Work Experience Coordinator position.
  • Establishment of customized courses and micro-enterprise opportunities for women in the neighboring island provinces. In a span of 3 years, 1,500 women benefited from the project.
  • Training of public school teachers to upgrade skills and acquire TESDA National Certification Level II Qualifications under the K-12 basic education reform.
  • Establishment of the Alumnae Employment Unit to assist graduates in their career pathway through mentoring and bridging competency gaps.
  • Development of the FPTI mentoring manual and training of 110 mentors.
  • Expansion of services by ventures, such as mobile training center and assessment center.

To date, the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and Reledev Australia Limited have contributed $637,468.00.
